I recently finished reading The Anti-Federalist Papers and the Constitutional Convention Debates which was a good read, if a bit dry. Nat says that he read them in college. Something else I missed by not going to college, I guess.

Next comes the other side, The Federalist Papers. Did you know that you could get The Federalist Papers as 14 Cassettes? Who knew?

I also recent finished reading yet another excellent Robert Sawyer book, End of an Era. He's written many excellent books. I recommend them to anyone who enjoys Science Fiction and stories that include good character development.

I'm also reading a C# book that Miguel suggested. It's quite good and I'm pretty impressed with the language. The only thing that I don't like about it so far is the ugly-as-sin syntax for attributes. I think that whomever came up with the syntax must have spend too much time writing MSIDL or something. Yuck. Of course, I've only plowed through classes, interfaces, flow control and exceptions. There are a lot of other language features that I haven't passed judgement on yet.

Got home from zach's yesterday. You just walk from his house, jump on the train to the airport, take that to O'Hare, jump on a connecting flight and you're home. I got a couple of nice pictures of some mountains on the way out of Portland.

Zab and I took a walk up a large hill in Portland before I left because we were sick of sitting on our butts, eating donut holes and not getting any exercise. Well, not really sick of it. Just feeling guilty, really. There are some nice pictures of that journey as well including lots of pictures of VW bugs. Apparently there are lots of them in the city. I found another one on the way out of the city.

This is in direct contrast with another car I found while walking around.

Zach and I have been hanging out at his place for the most part. Watching movies. Eating bad food. Hacking. This is a nice vacation. I'm being so lazy and I'm sure Zach is enjoying me being his enabler of bad behaviour. At least I'm finally getting the chance to work on bugs that have been annoying the crap out of me for a change.

I pulled some pictures off of the camera.

DEATH BEAM Take that, St. Louis!

Sweating to the Oldies Zab and Alice put on a show.

I spent a good bit of the day trying to fix My Favorite Bug. I think the patch is about right. Seems to work in the browser, in my embedding test case and in galeon with no regressions that I know of. The code is much, much cleaner as well.

I spent the weekend in Montreal, hanging out with Phil, Harold and Mike. I ate a lot of meat and watched lots of Olympics.

Saw the movie Dead Man. It was quite good. I hope that Neil Young does some more movie soundtracks. It added a very interesting quality to the movie.

I've been also working on trying to get Xft into Mozilla. You can see some patches here. It looks quite nice. It's nice and zippy, too. I don't think that I can go back to using regular old bitmap fonts now.
