Yeah, the source is out there but I haven't published the location yet. Just trying to get the docs in place beforehand so people can actually figure out how to use it.

I finally found this page after seeing a few Planet GNOME posts of yours link to whoisi pages about people. It's a very interesting service; I appreciate the inverse

I'd rather run a service like this on my own server so I don't have to rely on you. Are you going to make the source available so I can do that? I run my own feed reader, so I would have to give up autonomy if I were to rely on your service. I'm hesitant to do so. I am considering what other data sources I might add.

Whoisi is a very interesting concept.

Are you going to make whoisi a Free Network Service as defined by the Franklin Street Statement? I would really love to take a look at the source and contribute! And as you said - we don't know how long this experiment will last, nor what direction it will take. As Microsoft proved with Word, the data may be accessible (in their case, .doc format), but unless you have the code to the application that runs it, that data can be more or less useless.

Thanks for the great application!

Is there any plan to release the code for the site? I can think of a few things I'd like to add, and being able to do that would be pretty great. AGPLv3 (ala identi.ca/laconica) perhaps? :-)
