is it me or is anyone else having a hard time with the instant messaging (IM)? i can't seem to figure out how to forward an IM.

I'm also struggling with whether there is a simm card included or not, photo's which were once there are no longer, is it because i emailed them out? the emailed copies of the pictures i sent appeared empty in my copy of the email i cc'd to myself.

what about a file manager? i can't seem to find the photo files and a file manager would sure help. ok, so there's probably one in the market place but not built in is a bit odd.

what about a task manager? i've been a t-mobile subscriber for 7 years, this is by far the most advanced phone they have ever put together and congrats for t-mobile for landing google, huge score for us! but back to the task manager, are items automatically closed when backing out of them?

what about a better set of instructions for the phone?

I keep hearing about this update to R-29 but where the hell is it already? not that i know that i need it but a little communication would be nice. i'm 34 years young and have always had a computer and feel as though i'm tech savvy but this is a complicated phone.

i ran into someone while eating lunch who was using the phone to its greatest potential i would say, he had a far better control of it than i do but he's also 18 and has a lot more time on his hands. i guess what i'd like to see is t-mobile roll out a support site specifically for the phone or even google, they can afford it right??

respectfully,

Did you walk into a TMo store in Boston and purchase your phone, or did you pre-order?

I'm in Hartford and we have no 3G here, hence no G1s in stock. The store personnel keep telling me the phones are sold out in Boston and NY, but I wonder if they just want me to order it through them rather than drive and find one.

Any idea if they're in stock in your area?

thanks

Enjoying mine. It does have its quirks being a 1.0, but it is fun.

Keep in mind that if you bring up the menu in an application such as the browser, and then press and hold the menu button again, it will show you any Menu+accelerator hotkeys that are defined for those menu options.

Doing so in browser will indicate that you can use Menu+j for back (but the back hard button the others mentioned is better there), Menu+k for forward, and Menu+t for bringing up the tabs.

I do want Fennec, mostly because like you said, the Browser could use a little competition.

The first thing that I'm going to be working on is a quick preference dialog to allow you to one touch things like turning on/off Wifi, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, etc. I also want to allow the user to configure time or location based rules (e.g. turn off the Wifi, and turn on Bluetooth when I leave my house; Turn on 3G when I am in Boston.. etc.)

I would like to point out your comment about being frustrated with the "back" button functionality in the web browser. There is a nice shortcut: the "back" button to the right of the trackball. Push that, and it acts as the back button in the browser. Now, it doesn't solve the "stop" and "forward" actions, but I think the back button is the most commonly used.
